U.S. U-20 Head Coach Michelle French named the final roster for the for the 2014 U-20 Women’s World Cup.
A few surprises: Rachel Hill, who has been in 8 of the 9 U-20 camps in this cycle, including World Cup Qualifying, was left off. As were fellow midfielders Morgan Andrews and defender Laura Liedle, both in seven camps. In goal, Rosemary Chandler won out over Morgan Stearns; Stearns started the cycle with the U-20s in early 2013, while Chandler has been with the U-18s until being named to the current U-20 camp in Seattle.
Joining Chandler is Taylor Racioppi, who was on the U-17 squad with Mallory Pugh up until earlier this year; while Pugh almost immediately made to the jump to the U-20s, Racioppi was with the U-18s until the current camp. Both Chandler and Racioppi will be going to the U-20 WWC after just one camp with the team.
